Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke made waves when he announced a brand new carnival-infused Chicago concept, The Birdhouse Festival, last month. Today, he reveals his hand picked lineup featuring favorites J. Phlip, Will Clarke, Christian Martin, Chicago talents Fancy Fux, and Teknicoz, and London based ZDS feat Chicago vocalist, KE. All will descend upon the Windy City September 8th for a cotton-candy fueled outdoor ride under the bright late-summer Chicago skyline.
Claude VonStroke will bring his juke and footwork inspired house vibes back to the midwest after his headline set at Movement in May. And for the first time, resident Dirtybird and Illinois native, J. Phlip and Chicago legend, Gene Farris will go B2B for a highly anticipated set. The bearded beats mastermind and U.K. cuddle-master Will Clarke is slated to deliver a smashing bass laden techno performance. While brothers in arms Ardalan and Christian Martin will take to the decks B2B representing the stranger, bassier mind altering vibes of the collective.
As well as the Dirtybird OGs, Chicago will also host London’s own ZDS along with frequent collaborator KE, Chicago’s prized house duo Fancy Fux, and the brand new Birdfeed featured local tech-house group, Teknicoz. (CVS has hinted that there might even be a another surprise guest from Chicago as well.)
The Birdhouse Festival is a complete reimagination of the classic local street fair experience. Pairing great music with a tinge of American midwestern nostalgia, the event will take attendees back to the simpler times. Games, prizes, classic carnival grub, and of course great music all combine for a perfect evening in one of America’s most beloved cities.
The Birdhouse festival will be produced in partnership with Silver Wrapper, producers of the iconic North Coast Festival, Suwannee Hulaween, and countless Chicago events.
