It’s been a beautiful summer for Lee Burridge and his iconic open-air gathering, All Day I Dream, weaving between some of the world’s most idyllic party locales with its unique day-into-night experience.
Following a standout 2017 Chicago debut, the party touches back down in the Windy City on September 15th. Lee will be joined by Lost Desert and YokoO on Lakefront Green island, just steps away from the city’s Lake Michigan beach.
In 2018 alone All Day I Dream has thrown over 60 events in more than 40 countries, playing host to nearly 100,000 Dreamers. The event has earned a truly dedicated global fan base who embody the essence of the worlds of art, wellness, fashion and wellbeing. If you’ve attended any events you’ll already be aware of the positivity and love that flows through the community.
Outside of the events the All Day I Dream label continues to support newly discovered artists as well as familiar family members like YokoO, Lost Desert, Hoj, Oona Dahl, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Powel and Bedouin. Recent releases include PHCK’s Elephants, Zone+’s Baia, Sébastien Léger’s Lost Miracle, Roy Rosenfeld’s When We Were Innocent, and Rebelski’s Paper 6-track EP. Each musical moment dreamt up by a loving and sensitive imagination.
The event and label’s vibe continues to spread like wildfire. For those in attendance the parties and experience represent a return to the simplest of things; broad smiles beaming from the faces of the beautiful souls who embrace the moment as well as this movement, none broader than that of Lee himself. A delightful and bewitching aural and visual treat for the senses.
About All Day I Dream
The All Day I Dream events began on a Brooklyn rooftop back in 2011 and have since become an international sensation. Around the world, crowds continue to flock to the experience and become part of a community spurred on by Lee Burridge and his unique roster of artists. Each bringing their own unique technicolor emotionalism that’s all too rare in our current electronic music scene.
Spreading across the world from New York to Los Angeles, from London to Moscow, Berlin to Beirut, the parties expanded and flourished due in part to Lee’s major presence at Burning Man and his desire to create something magical.
Giving the partygoer (or “Dreamer”) more than just the usual short DJ set, All Day I Dream aspired to create its own unique ambience through the combination of the musical selection and journey as well as unique venues, each decorated with draped fabric, fairy lights and lanterns creating an unparalleled and magical atmosphere.

Bam Creates Industry Sleep Over 2017 was held at the Hotel Godfrey on Sunday Febuary 19th. It was a blend of funky blue Afros, a laid back vibe hipsters, a dash of suit and tie gentlemen, and all held together with plenty of booty shorts and the pasty adhesives. The diversity in attire allowed the attendees to express themselves in whichever way allowed them to get down and let loose from the afterhours of work. This networking party was meant to not put a face to the name but personality.
Upon entrance the first floor of the Godfrey hotel was transformed into a club equipped with two bars, plenty of seating, and art décor. Water trickled down a behind us on a black marble wall adding touch of nature into the fully modernized layout. Loud music played over the sound system while people took to the floors. Gogo styled women danced upon high rise seats while a cast shadows contrasted the highlights emphasizing abdominal twisting. Each second that passed a new intriguing person made their way across your path. The mixture of unique attire and compelling conversation was purely invested in this scene.
The outdoors was open for people to smoke and drink while getting a glimpse of a city view. Standing nearly twice my size; oversized vintage styled lamps were intermittently placed upon the roof top. I stood and took pictures near the spore of the lamp while the milk-white lamp shade engulfed me beneath it like the cap of a lactifluus piperatus. It melted in cerulean blue accentuating the artic kiss of this winter wonderland look. The majestic atmosphere felt as magical as a Fantasia Disney scene. Luxury fire pits and heated cellophane igloos make it easy for guests to enjoy their time without scurrying in from the impenitent Chicago winters.
We began venturing down the hallways following the hotel carpet like a scene from Fear and Loathing. Pocket sized underground parties held compact in the dimension of a hotel room. Music bled into the hallways as several floors were exclusively closed off for the party guests. There could be no explanation for what randomness can be packed away within each cubby. Guys in thrift shop fur coats and women in silk robes and VS sports bras filed between the walls. Here we ran into a women who sported a black feathered Mohawk and snake! We snuck away to find an industrial cage for the mini photo shoot.
I watched as a red ball came rolling into the hallway; then a blue then a yellow. Sure enough a ball pen was just around the corner. Slow motion camera defied laws of gravity as it showcased a cascade of elementary colors floating through the air like an astronaut as he plays with ripping water bubbles through deep space.
We continued into another room and curiously found our way through black veils. A man stood like some sort of hyper reality slinger leaning against a table which showcased various virtual reality goggles and business cards. He was well dressed with a slick way about himself as he introduced to us this goggled vision.
Inside sprang an ocean scene that came alive from the wreckage of pirate ship. Physically I turned my body like a compass looking for the North Pole when suddenly an intimate view of a blue whale made his way before my very eyes. He motion towards you as my eyes gazed back and forth at the touch of grays and blue. The gentle eyes blinked and interacted with my presence just as much as I was interacting with his. This only confirms what kind of quasi matrix reality we will be seeing in the not far future. The blue whale eyes were molded with emotion and his soul seemed just as deep as the ocean I discovered him in. He seemed imprinted with the gentleness of old age. In all honesty he was probably the most sensitive and deep character I had encountered that evening. His sensitivity seemed curious for expansion and growth; not tethered in character by distraction of the city. He was humbled beneath the silent waters and wise to the glorification of sexual exploitation.
I removed the goggles to teleport right back to where I had previously remembered leaving my body. In the dark ambience of a hotel room with starkly characters all around me. We were handed a business card that read Midwest Immersive.
Room 612 held a massive dance party secluded into the darkness. Bodies moved to the pulsing bass whilst DJs spun their music influence over the attendees. The room was netted in black paper machrochet from ceiling to walls. We were drawn into the den of the lion where Red light and smoke dissipated into the humid air. Finally I felt at home deep on the dance floor. Here is where I felt belonged as the crowd and I all moved as one. The Dj’s Hair flattened from under the weight of her headphones as the vibrant highlights of Carmel hair popped against her skin. Photographer’s shutters began to snap as she explored our minds with trance.
This party was a behind the scenes look at how Chicago’s Industry lives and breathes. After the exhaustion of hard work this celebratory form of meditation was rightfully deserved. Keen Entrepreneurial skills, networking intuition, art, dance, food coinsurers and incredible taste speaks feats into why Chicago is one of the most talked about cities in the world!

Chicago Night life Awards 2016
The Third Annual Chicago Nightlife Awards (CNAs) kicked off on Tuesday, June 7th and held at Concord Music Hall. The event was hosted with the unfiltered dry comedic stylings of contemporary artist Jeremy Scheuch. His playfully blunt personality invited us into a night full of fresh faces and talented acts.
The endless characters that filled the room could only be put into a digestible description through absurdities of a caricature’s portrayal. it was a joy to see everyone in their element expressing just what it was that made them the Chicagoland gurus of entertainment. There were artists of all sorts including nightlife entertainers, musical groups, bartenders and dancers which had compiled the names on guest list. It was a night of pure exaltation complete with a cat walk on the red carpet.
Musical acts took the stage between each award presentation. Acts included; ProbCause, The Walters, Sleep On It, My Gold Mask, Light.Em.up, Derrick Carter, and JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound. While the genres of each act varied immensely from one to the next; they each captivated the audience within a unique description of emotion. Videos can be viewed on the official website http://chicagonightlifeawards.com
Khloe from the Kit Kat Lounge had also taken the stage as she entranced us with her dance and lip synced musical number. Her performance was executed in such confidence and represented all that is fierce in pink pumps.
Presenters were charmingly paired together teasingly bouncing back and forth from each other’s personalities. Presenters included Lucy Stoole who wore the most rememberable outfit of the evening. Hot pink veil and hair but don’t forget the beard! Kate Catalina singer song writer dressed as MC meets Slash complete with top hat presented with Danielle Colby from American Pickers. Damon Ranger grammy award winner and known for his work in BlackBox. Anthony John Aloysius Sacco magician who had almost gave the audience a heart attack as silly string shot up in chaos and Future Classic Space Rap artist Probcause.

This Thursday Dutch house producer Bakermat will be making his stop at The Mid on his 16-date North America tour called ‘The Circus’. After a year of intensive touring in 2015, Bakermat kicked off the new year with two successful EPs. Featuring the famous South African duo Goldfish and Parisian vocalist Marie Plassard, ‘Games and ‘Ballade’ were both immediate hits that portrayed his signature style of saxophone and guitar-infused house. ‘The Circus’ tour will feature tracks from the new EPs and deeper cuts from his extensive discography.
Pleasurekraft at Spybar
A distant trance beat led us down the stairs as darkness quickly engulfed into the comfort of Spy Bar’s black walls and industrialized ceiling. Red mood lighting sprayed the walls enticing us to walk further into the sex drive of this ultra-lounge. Modern chic decor paired with the intrigue of an underground feel and always providing the most tasteful choice of music. The modest and refreshing choice of stage provides an unparalleled intimacy that is felt between the guests and the DJs alike. 4500 square feet with fully open dance floor space, equipped with an island bar, and as well as a second bar along the wall side of the dance floor allows for easy access to drinks throughout the night. The club proves to hold an ample amount of tables accommodated with friendly staffing for bottle service. “The River North Party Paradise” according to Rolling Stone Magazine, has been running strongly for 18 years and has become a legend in Chicago.
Pleasurekraft, played a SIX HOUR exclusive set that went strong throughout the night. Thanks to the generosity of the Club owner, a Patrón on the rocks began to work its magic on me as I joined the celebrating crowd. Whilst becoming inebriated, I contemplated over whether I should be interpreting the name PleasureKraft as some sort of alien sex craft or rather an artful craft of providing musical pleasure but ended up deciding either name was was quite fitting and let go allowing these otherworldly synthesizers to mesmerize me.
Melodies wrapped tightly around the knocking of the beat as if it were a spine drawing all the elements seamlessly together. The catchy rhythms would not allow for the possibility of standing around and Pleasurekraft had the dance floor captivated by the shuffling patterns of music.
Even after the set the dance floor cheered for one last song; as if six hours wasn’t enough time for them! Pleasurekraft has successfully developed a very mature sound after the years of playing and is a true artist at the core. After speaking with him at the end of the night it seems all artists have much in common with evolving new sounds and retiring the old. It was a great boost of confidence and enlightenment that many artists go through the same struggles but should always persevere forward!

Where will you be in 2016?
Lightning in a Bottle to Electric Forest, Future World to Okachobee the festival gods have provided well for the music worshipers. With Christmas only a day behind us it’s only natural to start looking towards the new year. And with that comes the great debate “Where will you be when the ball drops?” New Years 2016 is posing to be a pretty stout party night with so many options available this year. But, only a few stick out to CMF.
The big party in town is undeniably REACT PRESENTS the REACTION NEW YEARS up in Rosemont. The line up is huge and one hell of a way to blow away 2015. Whether you catch Deadmau5, Chvrches, and Bonobo on the 30th or go into the new year with Skrillex, Chance the Rapper, and Autograf (or both) prepare to spend a few hundred if you are making a date of it. The two night event is more like a mini festival than a one night blowout. With hundreds of people exiting at the same time taking an Uber home might not be worth the hassle. If not that’s ok, the venue is close enough to the Blue line.
If large and out of control isn’t your speed or you just want to keep away from the tourist driven shindigs, there are a few other classy options available OUTFIT, GOMASSIVE, and BAM CREATES are throwing a all premium open cocktail bar at SMOKEY HOLLOW NYE featuring KAJENDR and Jordan V. The space and decor will provide an elegant back drop with an edge as BAM is known to spare no expense when it comes to detail oriented entertainment and visuals. The party will be a pretty penny for some but if you are with a decent sized party crew then for what and who you will see, consume, and take home this NYE party just might prove a topper to the already successful year for this promo group.
Now for those of you want to go underground and get your dance on then REVERSE Events is hosting an underground three floor dance party ZERO-DAY NYE in one of Chicago’s more infamous but well known sound studios Baseline ( the Old Riff) in the south loop. This party will hold three floors flooded with heavy hitting house music from a number major local acts featuring Inphinity, Dustin Sheridan, Twitchin Skratch and headlining with Cocodrills. This HO– USE will be going looooooooong after the ball drops making it perfect for you major night owls that like to see the sunrise before you decide to go home.
Check them out…
